There isn’t a ton of good news coming out of China and other emerging market countries lately, but if you look at the long-term demographic shifts of these countries, you can’t help but be optimistic for the global economy.
The Millennial Shift
The new millennial generation will have a huge impact on the world. The number of millennials in China is larger than the working populations of U.S., Canada and Western Europe combined!
The millennial generation not only carries a large number in population, but they have high expectations and big goals. We’re seeing more college graduates not wanting to work in the field, but to work in the service and information industry which will allow them to afford their higher standards of living.
The spending class is buying things like cars, refrigerators, homes, TVs, and other electronics — all of which require more materials and energy consumption. Which is why there are more green energy initiatives.
